The peoples of Eastern Africa region, particularly the youth, have been victims of consumption of narcotics and other illegal psychotropic substances. This growing threat is fueled by transnational syndicates and is globally an area of prosecutorial practice that is undergoing significant developments.  The ANPF is a forum of the EAAP where prosecutors handling anti-narcotics prosecutions can share information, cases and best practice.
