The 11th Annual General Meeting of the Eastern Africa Association of Prosecutors marked a significant milestone in strengthening regional prosecutorial cooperation and institutional development within Eastern Africa. During the Meeting, Member States unanimously approved the admission of Zanzibar into the Association, further expanding EAAP’s regional footprint and collaborative mandate.
The AGM also witnessed the official launch of the EAAP Strategic Plan 2023- 2027, which sets out the Association’s vision and strategic priorities towards enhancing prosecutorial cooperation, capacity building, mutual legal assistance, and combating transnational organised crime within the region.
The Meeting further deliberated on key matters aimed at improving the efficiency, sustainability, and operational effectiveness of the Association, including strengthening institutional frameworks, enhancing collaboration among Member States, and deepening partnerships with regional and international stakeholders.
